As part of ongoing efforts to improve network reliability and path diversity, we will be performing maintenance to swap in a new fiber segment within our diverse inter-datacenter route.

Over the past two weeks, we have been testing a new connection designed to expand and strengthen the redundancy of our NIKHEF fiber ring network.

Potential Impact:
Due to the redundant design of our fiber ring, there is expected to be no impact on service stability or performance. Traffic will temporarily reroute through an alternate path for approximately 10 - 20 minutes while the fiber exchange is completed.

Our NOC team will be actively monitoring the process and will be present on-site at the data center to ensure smooth execution and immediate response to any unexpected events.

Fiber interconnect provider Eurofiber, which connects Internet customers through Globalswitch Amsterdam (GSA), is having a planned maintenance.

"We are performing a large scale network software update that will improve the performance and future-proofing of our services. Your connection will be interrupted up to 4 hours within the window. Given the size of this project we cannot adjust the schedule. We understand that this may have an impact and commit to keep the interruption as short as possible."

Internet customers relying on this interconnect may experience downtime during this maintenance window.

Our interconnect provider LevelFour has announced planned maintenance. Their reason is stated below:

"The connection that Levelfour has with Eurofiber must be transferred to a new switch in the Nikhef data center.

Interruption length: within 5 and 30 min."

During this maintenance we expect some downtime to occur for customers connected through LevelFour.

Due to a recent issue we plan to perform a reload on router R2 in Databarn Amsterdam (DBA).

Since our datacenters are setup with 2 routers to handle situations like these, only customers having only one BGP session would be affected. Customers having a redundant BGP session with us should not experience any issues.

Our transit provider Arelion has announced planned maintenance on their routers. Their reason is stated below:

"Maintenance to perform software upgrade in order to resolve issue on router."

During this maintenance all Arelion traffic will be automatically rerouted over our other transits and peering connections.
